The City Police have completed the renewal of their fleet with 84 hybrid and electric vehicles. This is the second batch of a total of 184 newly contracted cars for the Barcelona corps, with an overall investment of 14.3 million euros.
The new acquisitions include technology to make them more efficient and many of them have an on-board computer with a cordless microphone for communication. The new vehicles are highly visible on the outside, featuring the Battenberg design.
The City Police currently have 646 motorised vehicles serving people in the city with the goal of increasing police presence and making their work more agile, providing greater sustainability at the same time. In all, 303 vehicles are non-plug-in electric or hybrid units, accounting for 46.9% of the fleet.
